In Pennslyvania, a law was passed to provide supplies and financial aid for non-public schools with church related cirriculum. In Rhode Island, the state was suppling direct salary to teachers at non-public schools. Many question whether or not this goes against seperation of church and state, along with the 1st Amendment.

With a unanimous 8 to 0 vote, they ruled that this law passed in both of these states did not follow the seperation of church in state. Also it touched on the "freedom of religon" section of the 1st Amendment.
